How to preserve, develop, enrich folklore?In my opinion, this is fully possible on one condition: if he.will return to where he came from - to a family, to a rural house or to a city dweller's house.Is it possible?

The folklore ensemble "Rusava" from the Ukrainian village of Stena took part in the Moscow festival.A collective that invariably arouses the admiration of both spectators and specialists with its organic and graceful manner of presenting folklore on stage.The organizer and permanent leader of Rusava is Zoya Zosimovna Chorna, a former village teacher.She brought her two daughters to the ensemble: Olya, who, following the example of her mother, chose the teaching profession, and Katya, who now works as a pioneer leader and, obviously, will also remain in line with the family tradition.

What has the ensemble accomplished in its two decades of existence?In addition to hundreds of concerts, which gave numerous spectators the joy of being in touch with genuine folk music-making, amateur artists also worked as researchers.They collected dozens of old songs, restored and show peasant rituals on the stage, found and preserved various details of traditional Ukrainian costume.All this is done by both the elderly and young members of Rusava, there are even schoolgirls.This small beacon is burning, showing the right path to the revival and preservation of the original culture of the people.And it is no coincidence that he was kindled by a rural teacher, who, perhaps, sees a little better than others what the spiritual impoverishment of the village leads to.

But, unfortunately, there are not so many such popular educators today.And it is beyond their power to revive folklore alone.Millions of people withdrew from their native lands, thousands of abandoned villages and villages, the enlargement of already immensely expanded cities is one of the most complex phenomena of our time, giving rise to many social, economic and political problems.
